Program Overview

Diagnostic medical sonography is a multi-specialty profession comprised of many diverse areas all using ultrasound as a primary technology. Doctors perform ultrasound examinations to gain advanced insights into the inner workings of the body. In fact, after x-ray exams, ultrasound is the most utilized form of diagnostic imaging available today.

Concordia University’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) certificate will train you in anatomy, physiology and the art of scanning. You will have hands on experiences through the on-campus ultrasound lab as well as diverse clinical rotations encompassing all specialties.

This certificate award option is available to qualified candidates meeting the required pre-requisites if there are cohort vacancies not taken by traditional undergraduate DMS students. Students applying for the certificate DMS award option are encouraged to discuss availability with admissions and need to submit an application for consideration no later than the last day of the fall semester.
